To create a Telegram username, head over to the hamburger menu located at the top right corner of the app's home screen and tap on 'Settings.' In the menu, the section titled 'Account' will contain an option that reads 'Username.' Tap on it create a unique username. Like other social media platforms, the username has to be a unique combination of alphabets, numbers and underscores that is at least five characters long. While this might be good for users who want to be recognized on the platform, some users might be uncomfortable with this, and hence, they should not create a public username.
